Origins and development of the science fiction genre.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, students can expect to:

  1. Articulate key movements and themes in the history of American science fiction.
  2. Identify important issues in particular works of science fiction.
  3. Construct a definition of science fiction, while also understanding the limitations of genre definitions.
